New Line Cinema has acquired feature film rights to DC Comics' "Y - The Last Man," with a pair of studio-based production banners, David Goyer's Phantom Four and Benderspink, on board to produce. The comic book, created by Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra, is a post-apocalyptic tale set in the near future, after a plague of unknown origin has wiped out the world's male population except one man, an escape artist, named Yorick Brown...and his pet Monkey. He sets out to discover why he is the only man to survive.
