 The Official Star Wars website reports that Chewbacca, played by Peter Mayhew, will make an appearance in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III. The character's appearance is meant to tie the prequel film to the original Star Wars, which is also called Episode IV."I'm delighted to return as Chewbacca," Mayhew told the site. "I think his re-appearance in this film is a fitting way to tie the whole saga together, especially for Wookiee fans."
Chewbacca is 200 years old in the original Star Wars and is therefore old enough to fit into the prequel timeline, the site reported.
