 Scare Tactics, hosted by Shannen Doherty, is SciFi Channels new hidden-camera show that turns fears into realities by placing ordinary people in situations inspired by science-fiction and horror films.
Picture the scene. You're sitting in the car with a bunch of friends on the way to an exclusive Hollywood party. You're probably quite excited about getting an invite to such a posh do. You're laughing and joking with your friends, wondering who you'll meet, wondering if any of them can put in a good word for you with their directors. Then, aliens attack. Oh well.
Los Angeles based primary school teacher Kara Blanc didn't appreciate being scared out of her wits. Apparently, what had happened was a set-up between her friends and the producers of reality TV show "Scare Tactics". The alien was merely an actor playing a part, and the party they were on their way to wasn't real either.
Ms. Blanc, an aspiring actress herself, was most upset to see what she thought was her friends being physically injured or killed by a terrifying monster. So much so that upon hearing the full story, she decided to file a lawsuit against Sci-Fi Channel, makers of the TV show.
