Opening in theatres nationwide April 29th,the long and eagerly awaited film version of "A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy" makes its US debut.
The film, which has been in the works now for some ten years, is the feature film adaptation to Douglas Adams intergalactic bestseller about the hilarious, and sometimes dangerous misadventures, of one wayward human and his alien best friend as they struggle to make it through the galaxy in one piece... and in the process inadvertently discover the secrets of the universe.
The story first made it's debut in 1978 and quickly became a smash hit first in the United Kingdom and then In the US and has since then been a successful franchise which have spawned; a BBC TV series, a series of paperback sequels, and video games. The author, Douglas Adams was adapting the screenplay for the motion picture when he suffered a lethal heart attack ...he was only 49.
The film is directed by Garth Jennings (Best of Blur) a newcomer to feature films.
The cast includes... Martin Freeman as the main character Arthur Dent, Mos Def as his best friend Ford Prefect, Sam Rockwell ("Matchstick Men") as Zephod Beebelbrox, and the lovely Zooey Deschanel ("Elf") as Tricia McMillan.

The film also features some impressive effects including the wizardry of the Henson Creature shop ("Farscape","Labyrinth", and "Dark Crystal").
So if your not busy with your mundane soul-sucking existence on this dismal planet, hitch a ride with Arthur Dent and friends as they trek through the galaxy this spring... Have a safe trip and don't panic!!
