    The Watchmen!! Print E-mail
    06 Apr 2005

DC publishing has recently announced that it will be releasing a special oversized, slipcase, hardcover edition of "WATCHMEN", Alan Moore’s (Swamp Thing, Promethea) groundbreaking graphic novel about super heroes in a "cold war" world. The classic story of power, corruption, and madness first made its appearance in newsstands in 1985 as a 12 part maxi-series and was an instant hit with fans.

This new collection will have the original art by Dave Gibbons digitally re-mastered, fully re-colored and will be presented in a larger format and on the best paper stock, the collection will also feature newly designed Gibbons art on the slipcase cover.

In addition to the newly restored look of the book, the collection will also include; Dave Gibbons character studies for the series, behind the scenes commentary by both Moore and Gibbons on the making of the book, and Alan Moore's original proposal for the series.

This "Absolute Edition" will represent the ultimate Watchmen collection and is a must buy for any comics fan, and fans of Alan Moore's work.

Reserve your copy quick though, this "Absolute Edition" of WATCHMEN is limited to only 200 copies, price of the collection volume has not yet been announced but expect to spend close to over $100 for the editions.

The special hardcover 20th anniversary edition is slated for an October/2005 release...so keep your eyes peeled for the WATCHMEN!

And look for the movie to hit theatres some time next year!!  Click here for more info!!
