Coming to DVD this Tuesday, August 16th is Sin City. Created and written by comics genius Frank Miller, the film is based on his series of popular and critically acclaimed graphic novels of the same name. The main character is in fact the city itself, Basin City - an old toilet stink of a town riddled with decay and as corrupt and twisted as the people who live on it's streets. The film boasts an all-star cast including Bruce Willis (Pulp Fiction) who plays detective Hartigan, a grizzled, weary warn detective who will stop at nothing in delivering justice. Also in the cast, Mickey Rourke (Angel Heart) who plays Marv, the lovely Jessica Alba (Fantastic 4) who plays Nancy Callahan, Rosario Dawson (Men in Black 2) who plays Gail, and academy award winner Benicio Del Toro (Traffic) who plays Jack Rafferty. The trailers of the upcoming film look great and seem to capture the flavor and look of the book religiously. If your not familiar with Sin City or of it's denizens, pick up a copy or one of the many trade paperback collections now available at your local comics outlet. The stories are a great modern day twist on the classic film noir genre with plenty of extraordinary characters to study as they struggle to survive day to day with not only the demons who inhabit the city's streets but the one in their own minds. The film is being wriiten and directed by the man himself; Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez (Desperado). So pay a visit to the city without pity - SIN CITY coming to theatres this Spring
Be sure to check out the wicked trailers that are out for the film as well...
