Yes kids it's that time of year again, the official launch of the convention season starts this weekend, February 25th thru the 27th, with MegaCon 2005 in sunny Orlando, Florida. MegaCon is the largest comics event in the south and is the venue for some of the country's top retailers and vendors who will have available not only your favorite current titles but also rare, vintage collectibles in both comics and toys.

The guest of honor for this years event is Marvel Comics editor in chief Joe Quesada. Other guests include actresses Julie Benz (Darla) and Mercedes McNabb (Harmony) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Richard Hatch (Apollo) from the original and updated version of Battlestar Galactica and practically half the cast of the Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century TV series (Gil Gerard, Erin Gray, Felix Silla, and Thom Christopher). Also on hand will be "Mean Green" himself , Lou Ferrigno from TV's Incredible Hulk.  MegaCon also features scores of other celebrities, comics writers & artists like. Dick Giordano, Mark Waid, Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan, George Perez, Adam Hughes and yours truly; Shawn Surface, all of whom will be available all weekend for autographs and in some cases, on the spot custom convention sketches.
