Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks have taken a very aggressive move into acquiring the rights to make a TRANSFORMERS live action film. Well the trades are confirming that as well right now. Seems that not only is Dreamworks on board, but Paramount is co-producing and taking the International Distribution. And for Spielberg's Rhode Island trip, he'll be the Executive Producer on the film, which already has Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy aboard. That being said, there was no mention of Zemeckis' involvement, yet.

Sounds to me like a sure fire hit!  Just as long as it's the original Transformers...and not the Beast Wars crap.
