All hail the new king of the movies!
Director Peter Jackson's third act to his brilliant cinematic presentation of Tolkiens epic saga, "Lord of the Rings" ran away with it all at this year's academy awards in Hollywood. Garnering a staggering total of 11 awards including best director and best picture, "The Return of the King" made history by being the first fantasy based film to win best picture and by winning all categories that it was nominated for, no other film can make that claim.
The movie tied James Cameron's "Titanic", and William Wyler's "Ben-Hur" for most academy awards won by a single motion picture . Next up for Jackson is a retelling of everyones favorite lovesick gorilla "KING KONG" due for release in late 2005.
