It's been some 25 years since they worked on a book together, but this spring, one of comics most talented, creative teams will reunite to work on DC's premier super team. DC Comics has recently announced that award winning writer Chris Claremont (X-Men) and award winning writer/artist John Byrne (X-Men, Fantastic 4) will be teaming up once again to collaborate on DC's premier super team; the JUSTICE LEAGUE of AMERICA.
This marks the first time that Claremont & Byrne have worked together on a DC title, and the first time in nearly 15 years since they worked together on a project. Of course anybody familiar with the Marvel universe and the uncanny X-Men in particular know who these talented gentlemen are, they are the principal architects that created the "Dark Phoenix Saga" and shocked the comics world back in the 80's with the death of Jean Grey. This dynamic duo will begin their run this coming March with a six issue story arc starting in issue #94 of the JLA. The story is entitled "The Tenth Circle" and involves a deadly cult of apparently immortal vampiric characters who are preying on the members of the League. The story will reveal some shocking revelations about some key JLA members, and the events that happen within the story will have lasting ramifications for the team and it's members. Joining Claremont and Byrne on JLA will be the talented veteran artist Jerry Ordway(Power of Shazam , Wildstar) who will be providing the inkwork over John Byrne's pencils. The action begins this March, so save your pennies and reserve your copies of the JLA starting with issue #94, and bare witness to the return of one of the comic industry's most talented, creative teams in comics history, Chris Claremont & John Byrne together again.....nuff said!
