According to a USA TODAY story, HULK screenwriter James Schamus has already begun work on a script for HULK 2. When The Hulk debuted in the pages of Marvel Comics back in the ‘60s the character was gray rather than green, and Schamus is reportedly planning to introduce a villainous, gray Hulk in the sequel, a creature that appears as a new, even more uncontrollable manifestation of Bruce Banner’s anger. Schamus is also reportedly considering using The Leader (another gamma radiation mutant, but with a super intellect versus the Hulk’s super brawn) and The Abomination (a gamma-ray mutant, but even stronger and more hideous than The Hulk).Earlier this month, HULK producer Avi Arad told the SCI FI Channel’s online news service, "When you publish for 40 years, there are a lot of stories. There's a gray Hulk, there's a green Hulk, there's a speaking Hulk, there's a singing Hulk," before going on to say that “any one of these incarnations may appear in a potential HULK sequel.”
With the well-reviewed HULK having broken all records for a June opening, a sequel now looks all but inevitable.
