    SPIDER-MAN 2 Trailer Print E-mail
    By Shawn Surface

Just checked out the teaser trailer for the upcoming "Spider-Man" sequel which was on the recent release of "The Return of the King" feature. The teaser doesn't have much in the way of dialogue except at the beginning which opens with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire) having lunch together at a local NYC cafe , a rather intimate moment that is suddenly interrupted when Parker's "Spider sense" goes off and before you know it he and MJ are dodging an automobile which seems to have been thrown through the huge plate glass window that they were sitting in front of just seconds before. This is followed by a montage of scenes focusing on teasing shots of the film's foe , Dr. Octopus(Alfred Molina) ,and Parker slipping into his "Spider-Man" guise ala' Superman style.

The trailer also highlights more stunning visual effects that we have grown accustomed to like "Spidey" swinging through downtown Manhattan ,but also features the first full scenes of Doc Ock's amazing mechanical arms. Molina looks great as Dr. Otto Octavius, college professor turned maniacal villian who is determined to pick up where the "Green Goblin" left off in the first film. There is also an interesting scene with Harry Osborne (James Franco) standing over an unconcious Spidey, knife in hand, and revenge in his eyes...All of this adds up to a very entertaining two minutes of what promises to be one of the big hits of 2004...Director Sam Raimi (Evil Dead films) returns for the second film which is scheduled for a July 2nd release in theatres nationwide.
