To say Hellraiser is a cult classic when it comes to horror films would be an understatement. This film introduced the world to Pinhead, the lead Cenobite, who escorts a motley crew from Hell on the unending quest to dish out suffering and pleasure (depending on how you look at it). All that's needed to call these pasty and tortured souls from the beyond is a desire for the unholy and a puzzle box. Once called there's no turning back, unless you happen to outwit the foursome and send them back to where they came. Just ask young Kirsty about the experience... This film was born from the mind of Clive Barker, one of the top horror writers of the day, and he also wrote and directed the film. His take on Hell being a physical place where you are forever tortured is fascinating if not perhaps a bit morbid. This little adventure is looked into more in the second film Hellbound: Hellraiser 2. If you indeed are ready to taste the pleasures of Pinhead and see the sites he wishes to show you, by all means check out this film. Doug Bradley does a wonderful job as Pinhead and heck, you may even like the other people in the film too. If you want to find out more about Clive Barker check out this site
